The October 2019 Mulu Caves Expedition is now underway and the team has arrived in Mulu and is working from its two bases at Park Headquarters and up river at Camp 5.
The team has plentiful objectives, including:
* Climbing large avens in Benarat Caverns
* Pursuing strongly draughting leads in the Dune Series of Clearwater, discovered by the Easter ’19 expedition
* Identifying and following leads in Blackrock Cave, little explored since 1991
* Continuing exploration of the many leads in Whiterock Cave
To support these efforts more than 1.2 kms of rope and 550 kgs of food and equipment have been transported up river to Camp 5 where the core of the team will be based.
The expedition is in the field until 6th November.
